Hi, thanks for coming to my bio! My name is Kristi. I am a licensed clinical social worker
(LCSW). I received my MSW from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign in 2017. I have worked in the field of social work since 2008. During my years as a social worker and therapist I have worked with people who were struggling with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, interpersonal and family issues, life transitions, grief and loss, and issues during their gender affirming care/transition period.

In my practice I believe that it’s important to see each person as an individual, comprised of a unique and important history. Utilizing a strength-based perspective, I focus on helping individuals identify their strengths, both intrinsic and external, and help guide them towards utilizing these resources outside of the counseling space. It’s important to me to provide a kind, warm, and judgement free zone for my clients to feel free to share open and honestly in. I deeply trust in the healing power of nature, and on top of office sessions, I am happy to offer nature-based sessions to clients.

I have been in love with this beautiful state since I first visited Colorado in 2014. My husband and I finally became residents in 2022, after moving from the metro St. Louis area. When I am, “out of office”, you can usually find me in nature: running, camping, hiking, and being in the mountains in any way possible. I am also an avid reader and am currently in three book clubs! My husband and I are proud pet parents, and love spending as much time as possible with our two dogs and our cat.

I understand that life presents many challenges and changes, and sometimes these difficult chapters are hard to face alone. I have been there myself and know that it can be difficult to open up and bring your most vulnerable self to counseling. I would consider it a great privilege to help you work through whatever challenge, change, or circumstance you are coming into counseling for and I am here with an empathic heart ready for you to bring your entire self to the process.
